MOCJ IMPACT is a multi-borough program for individuals leaving Department of Correction (DOC) custody that helps releasees to positively reintegrate in the community and find sustainable employment. MOCJ IMPACT serves previously incarcerated young people and adults age 22 and older leaving DOC custody. These services are voluntary, so we identify, recruit, and engage potential MOCJ IMPACT clients through outreach to individuals and referrals from community partners. MOCJ IMPACT staff assesses a releasee’s immediate needs such as food, childcare, housing, healthcare, and transportation, makes referrals to additional community resources and provides care packages with hygiene supplies. Once immediate needs are resolved, the MOCJ IMPACT program offers resume development, workshops on re-entering the workplace, current workplace culture, and job entry and retention services.
